PowerBook has left the building
It looks like all that manufacturing paid off—the PowerBook has shipped:

I've just installed Tiger on my PowerBook... wow, the best part is that the operating system is mainly a proof of concept for the power of the underlying libraries.
ReplyDeleteGet stuck into the developer tools and read through the developer documentation. And the best part is that it's in Objective-C, not that blecherous C++!
Dig down into Quartz Composer (use Spotlight to find it) for some easy fun. Interestingly, hardware acceleration is not yet enabled, so Tiger 10.4.1 will have some considerable speed boosts...
